After more than ten hours of final trilogue, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission reached an agreement on the recast of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) in the morning of the 10th of March. EFIEES welcomes this deal which increases the level of the EU 2030 energy efficiency target, and which acknowledges the need to accelerate and optimise energy savings across the EU, by setting higher ambitions for this directive.
